ABOUT US Doug & Karen Hill are the founders of A1 Express, Inc. located in Florence, AL. A1 Express is a manufactured home transport & installation company serving retailers and homeowners in the North Alabama and Middle Tennessee area.
Doug first entered the manufactured home industry years ago with Clayton Homes and later worked in sales with an independent retailer. Having good success in sales and repeatedly making the "Circle of Excellence", he eventually branched out onto his own.
After being a retailer with multiple locations, he sold his stores and went to work for Champion Enterprises at a manufactured home facility in Alabama. While working in the wholesale side of the industry, he accepted a General Manager position with a large retailer.
Dissatisfied with the improper and incomplete installations he had experienced over the years, Doug & Karen formed their own company in April, 2000. A1 Express is committed to quality workmanship in the installation of manufactured homes.
"Frame Pullers" were invented in June, 2000 to solve a "major problem" in the installation of manufactured homes and reduce the damage that is caused to the frame structure. This tool has been a great success in eliminating "poor setups" and has vastly reduced the number of service trips required by the retailer or manufacturer after the sale.
